AMCO Wins Linda Grant H&S Award 2016
Steve Cunningham and his orange army team were announced once again as winners of the Linda Grant H&S Award. The silver salver was presented at the annual CECA Yorkshire and Humberside Awards held in Harrogate on Friday 31st of March.
In 2014 Steve and his team won the award for their work at the remote Standedge Ventilations Shaft, this time the team demonstrated their versatility undertaking steelwork repairs and painting at an Underbridge in Leeds City Centre.
An extremely challenging environment surrounded by both residential and commercial premises, the team had to liaise with a variety of different parties including Leeds City Council, Network Rail, LGBT Community (who designed the colour scheme), Police and Fire Services.
Normally rail works are undertaken at night when all is quiet but this location proved to be extremely busy 24/7, however the works were completed on time and to budget, with zero accidents in over 12,000 working hours and gathered commendations from all parties involved.
