Chipping Sodbury Flood Alleviation Works
Continuing with our flood alleviation works at Chipping Sodbury in South Gloucestershire, AmcoGiffen are proud to announce the successful excavation of the attenuation lagoon, along with the removal of the spoil to mitigate the impact to the local community.
Ultimately aiming to bolster the flood resilience of the main line and surrounding areas by this autumn, our teams have also started to install the Geosynthetic Clay Liner. This is an innovative, self-healing product that utilises bentonite material to seal the base of the lagoon, and provide the attenuation in order to assuage flood risks to the infrastructure.
Preparing to engage with our mechanical and electrical/shaft sinking contractors, we are looking forward to the commencement of the outlet pumping station to verify the next stage of the resilience strategy!
