Essential maintenance works at Sandilands Tunnel
Spare a kind thought for all those orange army team members who had to work over this last Bank Holiday weekend!
AmcoGiffen working in partnership with London Trams carried out CRMS (cable route management systems) works over the 2019 August bank holiday, in the Sandilands Tunnel. The 2019 August bank holiday formed part of the planned 10 day blockade starting on 23rd August through to 2nd September. AmcoGiffen ran two 12 hour rolling shifts starting at midnight on the 23rd and these will continue through to midnight on the 1st September 2019. The blockade finish and overhead re-energisation is planned for 02:00 2nd September 2019.
The works are being carried out safely using on-track mobile elevated work platforms. This work is a key element of the essential maintenance works currently being carried out on the London Trams network and helps reduce any major maintenance work that would otherwise disrupt the service.
