Men's Health Matters
Raising awareness of cancer, mental illness and dementia in men, AmcoGiffen’s Work Manager, David Timlin, delivered an informative and thought provoking workshop on Mental Health at our Barnsley headquarters this morning.
Attended by a group of our site engineers, the presentation raised discussions on potential preventative measures that can be taken in regards to prostate cancer and dementia, and provided the guys with various information resources.
We also wanted to stress that mental health issues are not reserved for women - in fact the suicide rate within the UK is at its highest in men aged between 45 and 59 and is particularly prevalent within the construction industry.
Dedicated to the health and wellbeing of our workforce, we will be delivering this workshop across the business over the coming weeks, because we want our teams to abolish stigma, get rid of stereotypes, and know that they are not alone.
