Queen Adelaide Bridge Timber Replacements
Taking place during two 52hr possessions, we’ve successfully replaced the life expired longitudinal and cross timbers at Queen Adelaide Bridge in Ely, Cambridgeshire!
Gaining consents from the Environment Agency, along with a navigation restriction, the works involved pre-erecting scaffold to the underside of the structure from pontoons below, fitting netting to ensure no materials fell into the river.
Continually monitoring the water quality to ensure we didn’t create any issues, our team cleaned and painted the existing steel and installed new timbers, ensuring the track was relayed ready for the trains to run over early yesterday morning! We're delighted with the result!
