Rail Industry Celebrates Railweek
AMCO attended the Rail Industries ‘Railweek’ event held on Saturday 2nd July 2016.
Railweek is a rail initiative set up to inspire young people with an exciting programme of events across the whole of the UK, its aim to enable them to see first-hand what exciting projects and range of job opportunities are on offer to anyone within the Rail industry.
AMCO attended events in both the South West area on Tuesday the 28th June and York on Saturday 2nd July. Further details are available at www.railweek.com. The events consisted of a three pronged attack with:
- Guided tours of actual work sites being held at York Railway Station, Scarborough Bridge, Holgate Depot etc.
- Careers Day
- Visiting Schools – Rail Week Ambassadors getting local school students involved in practical events
Stuart Thomas -Rail Engineering Manager (pictured right) attended the event with other members of the Rail and head office team, engaging attendees in discussions on the breadth of openings within the rail industry including backroom activities i.e. HR, Accounts, Procurement, Estimating, Planning, Business Development.
