Rail South West Team Achieve Star Award Accredition

Network Rail (NR) awarded AMCO a package of structure schemes (Structures Work Package 3), one of those structures Saveock Overbridge (OB) was identified as needing replacement. AMCO as the D&B contractor designed the scheme as a pre-stressed PCC beam and insitu concrete deck solution, providing high quality precast workmanship with onsite ease of installation and ultimate insitu concrete placement to provide a composite reinforce concrete bridge structure.
Valued at circa £1m the construction works have been undertaken over 17 weeks and the bridge is on target to reopen to public use on the 14th October 2016.
As part of the NR IP Western team’s H&S monitoring, Saveock OB site was identified as a site to undertake the STAR award assessment. The team achieved the STAR award after auditing visits by the NR H&S Manager and Construction Manager in August 2016.
