ROES Safety Conference Well Received
Rail held its Representatives of Employee Safety (ROES) conference in the Crown Plaza Hotel, Manchester on the 10th of May.
The theme of the day was Safe Behaviour, Head of Safety, Andy Shaw, an Aviation Human Factors and Behavioural Safety Specialist presented to the 50 ROES in attendance about why people do what they do and how to make a successful intervention on unsafe behaviour.
LNE Minor Works ROES Mark Riley presented on ROES activity in the region and how they engage with the workforce to improve safe performance whilst Engineering Manager, Stuart Thomas (pictured bottom right), talked about behavioural issues within the topic of Temporary Works.
There was much participation and debate which contributed to a most successful conference. At the end of the event ROES comments were ‘More of the Same Please’ ‘I now understand how I might be effective in accident prevention’, ‘A Great Day’
