Safety Poster Competition
Built in 1850 Preston Railway Station is a major station on the West Coast Main Line.
Network Rail via the Railway Upgrade Plan are investing millions of pounds in upgrading existing facilities enabling further electrification works to proceed. AMCO rail are currently undertaking platform extension works to the station as part of this plan.
Kirkham Junior School lies close to the station and in order to try and keep the community informed of the works, Mark Johnson (AMCO Project Manager) contacted the school to see if they would be interested in running a safety or worksite poster competition.
The AMCO team visited the school to explain the works currently being undertaken and highlight a safe working environment for both the workforce and passengers whilst the station remains fully operational
With over 200 pupils at the school a great many entries were received giving Mark Johnson the unenviable task of picking out the top 3 designs. Pictured right is Mark along with the students with their posters.
