Sheffield to the Somme Cycle Ride
Cycling over 400 miles from ‘Sheffield to the Somme’ to raise funds for the renovation of the Sheffield Memorial Park, AmcoGiffen were delighted to have been a key sponsor of the York and Lancaster Regiment’s worthwhile campaign.
Raising over £20000 for the cause, the results of this fantastic crusade have ensured that the ‘Sheffield Pals’ who died during the Battle of the Somme in 1916 will continue to be remembered.
Bringing in an additional £6000, to be split between Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the RBLI (Royal British Legion Industries), all those involved in the event met at the Sheffield Town Hall earlier this week to celebrate such a fantastic achievement.
Attended by the Mayor of Sheffield, Sheffield City Council, and the York and Lancaster Regiment - alongside respected military veterans - the evening was dedicated to the memory of those who fought for our country.
