Successful Delivery on an Environmentally Sensitive Site!
Preserving the heritage and enhancing the resilience of Grade B listed Slochd Viaduct in Inverness-shire, AmcoGiffen are delighted to announce the successful delivery of structural conservation works across the environmentally sensitive site.
As part of Network Rail’s investment in the Highland Line between Central Scotland and Inverness, we installed 32 full length spandrel ties, numerous weep holes, and undertook full condition led masonry repairs and structural refurbishment throughout the viaduct.
Aiming to improve service reliability and reduce journey times through infrastructure improvements, AmcoGiffen’s Scottish team liaised closely with Network Rail and the Highland Council to ensure successful and effective delivery without delay to the travelling public.
Located in a Special Protection Area, a Special Area of Conservation, and a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), Slochd Viaduct boasts a rich legacy that we are proud to protect.
