Troon Station Rebuild
AmcoGiffen has been appointed as the main contractor for the rebuild of the fire-damaged Troon Station on behalf of Network Rail.
The fire in July 2021 destroyed platform one and our Cumbernauld-based team will lead on reinstating the platform one building in keeping with the remaining building on platform two.
The contract appointment follows Network Rail’s consultation with partners, stakeholders and the community to develop the design while remaining sympathetic to the overall historic character of the building. It is designed to modern standards and will include a ticket office, a spacious waiting area, and an innovative ‘changing places’ facility for people with disabilities and their carers using the station.
Early contractor involvement is already underway, and our team is raring to get started on delivering this project to improve passenger experience on the route. The aim is to complete construction in time for The Open golf being held in Troon in July 2024.
